Full Moon in Virgo and Chitra Nakshatra on April 12th at 18:21MT
The April Full Moon arrives with a series of difficult transits and vulnerabilities. Pisces alone has over ten sensitivity points currently- causing problems for all four bodies simultaneously. Physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies are compromised, yet the gifts available right now are spiritual transformation and deep silence. The best use of your time is meditation, mantra, and rest.
Mars is debilitated once again in Cancer. Remember how it felt this past fall? As October closed, Mars moved to its debilitation sign, Cancer for the first round. This started an unusual and lengthy transit for Mars through his most vulnerable portion of the sky. Typical transits of Mars last about two months. Over the past few months, Mars danced through Cancer, retrograded back into Gemini, and now has re-entered Cancer once again. This total process will last over seven months. This transit will be especially challenging for the signs Scorpio and Aries- which are ruled by Mars. Anyone navigating a Mars maha dasha or antar dasha will need to be cautious as well as anyone with Mars in vulnerable placements of their chart either natally or via transit.
Mars is the warrior planet and he impacts action on all levels of life. As the karma yogi, his discipline, focus and goal oriented agenda supports powerful action steps towards dharma. When he is imbalanced, war, violence, anger, and aggression occur. Mars rules over surgery, cutting, and fire. During his debilitation caution with all things Mars is warranted. This will be an important time of rest, self care, and emotional work. Mother, land, home and property are vulnerable. It will be important to know where Cancer is placed in your chart to understand how Mars will impact your body and your life over the next seven months.
Mercury is now direct and fully debilitated in Pisces, conjunct challenging planets Saturn and Rahu. Venus is weak and vulnerable while sandhi and retrograde in Pisces as well. Venus won’t strengthen until he goes direct on the 13th and gains degrees after the 22nd. Mercury won’t leave debilitation until May 7th which is a very extended stay for him since his transits usually last around three weeks. Venus won’t leave Pisces until May 31st, another unusually long transit. A kala sarpa yoga will be in effect starting April 20th only intensifying the highs and lows taking place.
Mercury goes direct on April 7th, returning to his debilitation status. Venus goes direct on April 13th, returning to his exaltation status. Venus will make his way across the entire sign of Pisces during his retrograde cycle, ending up at the very edge of Pisces before going direct and walking back through his favorite sign. By the time Mercury and Venus go direct, Saturn and Sun will have joined both planets in Pisces. The planet stacking in Pisces is well under way.
It will be vital to stay close to your body, ground, support your health and vitality, tend to your grief, and honor your mental health through June. The location of Pisces in your chart will determine what part of your body and life will be most impacted by these transits. Your natal relationship with Venus, Mercury, Rahu, Saturn, Sun, and Moon will play a big role in the results of this cycle.
Everyone will need to be careful with feet, bones, and life force energy for the coming months. Health will be delicate and vulnerable. Pisces signals important ancestral work, the feet, isolation, retreats, solace, endings, hospitalization and death. The nature of Pisces and the 12th house is loss. These losses will make space for a new beginning and a very new cycle ahead.
The good news and bright spot of April is Sun shifting into his exaltation sign of Aries on the 13th, signaling the solar new year! This will create a huge lift to body and life. Once Sun is away from the pressure of Saturn and the confusion of Rahu, he can express himself more fully. He loves being in Aries because he can be in his power and purpose fully. This empowering solar transit only comes once a year so make the most of this month long cycle.
The Chitra full Moon occurs on April 12th at 18:21 MT while Moon is transiting Virgo.
Coinciding with this full Moon is Hanuman Jayanti, celebrated birth date of the powerful and beloved monkey god. This is an important cycle to heal, integrate, and make your visions a reality. Sun is exalted in Aries and Venus remains exalted in Pisces as well. Activate, align and receive! Clarify and focus your aim and direction. Be proactive and get results.
Chitra nakshatra is ruled by Vishvakarma, god of action, building and creating. He is considered the celestial architect as he created and built the zodiac. He is a powerful ally for supporting your visions, dreams and desires as he helps them materialize and come into form through your action steps. He is not lazy and does not give results to those who are not actively working towards their goals and desires. Vishvakarma is action oriented and very focused on receiving the fruits of his labors. It’s time to put plans into action.
Are you actively moving towards your goals and desires at this time? Are you being proactive and taking conscious steps towards your dharmic path and purpose? Are you willing to take a leap of faith to support your dharma?
The April full Moon takes place with Hanuman Jayanti, celebrated birth day of Lord Hanuman, the beloved monkey god. He and his monkey army saved Sita from the wrathful demon, Ravana, and brought her home safely to Ayodhya and Lord Rama. Hanuman is a Rudra- meaning he has immense strength, power and sheer force available to him. This strength was given to him by Vayu, the wind god- father to both Bhima and Hanuman. Hanuman reminds us of righteous action and that we must use our power and strength for conquering evil and restoring balance- while always upholding dharma. His devotion to Lord Rama expresses deep bhakti, and the power of leading with the heart. Your true strength is your heart wisdom.
Navaratri has ended now. This is the time of year when Sun completes a year long cycle around the zodiac and activates a brand new solar cycle. Sun enters Aries on Sunday, April 13th, arriving in Ashwini nakshatra and his sign of exaltation. The Sun is the center of our solar system. He rules over the light cycles and natural rhythms. He brings the dawn, the day, the growth that comes from his life light.
As Sun enters his most powerful placement of the zodiac, a fresh start and powerful beginning takes place. This Sun transit activates a new year in the Vedic calendar and the immense power of the Sun offers a surge of new energy and strength. This is a wonderful time to cleanse the body, mind and spirit. Clean, clear and purge the heaviness of the past year and clear away the undigested emotions lingering. Create space for the new and burn away the excess. Clean up your diet, take time to rejuvenate, and clarify your focus and direction in life. Sun is ready to help you shine brighter now!
New Moon in Aries and Bharani Nakshatra on April 27th at 13:31 MT
At the time of the new Moon, two planets continue their debilitation transits. Mars navigates watery Cancer and Mercury transits watery Pisces. Damp heat comes with Mars and lack of clarity with mind is a natural effect of debilitated Mercury. Worry, anxiety, doubts, and lethargy mix with fearful avoidant tendencies. Stay on top of your mental health. Are you checking out, or checking in?
Sun is strong in exaltation and Venus has gained degrees making his exaltation more supportive. Rahu and Saturn continue to be troublemakers in the sign of Pisces, causing challenges to relationships, money, creativity, communication, women and beauty. There’s constipation, frustration, and confusion emerging. Saturn and Rahu conjunctions create a Rudra effect. This is stormy, brooding energy, that comes with big movement. You’ll need to understand where Pisces lives in your Jyotish chart to fully awaken the impact of these transits in your body and life.
Exalted Sun brings with it the most auspicious day of the year, Akshaya Tritiya. Both Sun and Moon will be exalted on April 30th which only happens one day of the year. It is said that only positive outcomes can emerge on this day, that there can be no harm. All actions will be fruitful and yield positive results. Luck, success and powerful results occur when you align with the strength of this day. Plan accordingly. This is a powerful day to take action steps towards your biggest desires. Nature will be ready to support you!
New Moon in Bharani Nakshatra and Aries arrives on April 27th at 13:31 MT. Consider this your rebirthing cycle. Something new is being created. It is a small, delicate seed right now. Let it germinate slowly with your quiet intention. No need to rush or force this growth and awakening.
Restraint and focus are required in the coming weeks. Clarify your needs and open to something new. This waning cycle will support the shedding and release of your old self, while supporting the arrival of a new, upgraded version of yourself. Have you cleared what needs to be released so you can make space for the new?
Bharani nakshatra is ruled by Yama, Lord of restraint. He is responsible for judging your karmas after death, determining what direction your soul goes in the after life. He can be cruel with his discernment and does not allow anyone to escape their actions, choices, or behaviors. Yama is the ultimate judge on all levels of life- reminding us that every action has a reaction and a consequence.
Interestingly, the constellation of Bharani is symbolized by the Yoni. This is a portion of the sky connected to birthing, bringing forth something new. It is both vulnerable, sensual, and sensitive, as well as immensely powerful and strong. Bharani reminds us that we often we must go through restraint, and restriction in order to clarify and align with a new path, a new direction, a new life. Notice what is being refined right now in your life. Acknowledge where you are feeling pinched, pruned, forced to clarify your needs and desires.
Are you being clear about your direction and focus? Do you know where to focus your gaze? Your action steps and energy?
Use this waning cycle to clean up your path and purpose. If you are misaligned or being frivolous, Yama will put the smack down and force you to make some hard choices. He will also support ease and fluidity when you are aligned with right action, dharma. Notice what is being supported and what is not. It’s time to make some choices about where you want to go, and what you want to create for your life. If you aren’t getting the support of Natural Law that you want and need, you need to redirect and pivot.
This is a cycle of rebirthing, releasing and powerful transformation. There may be laboring in the process of this birthing, but trust that something new is emerging. It will be worth your effort. Something is dying within you. Let it go and create space for the new.
This new Moon in Aries signals a fresh start, a new beginning and a process of opening to a brand new cycle. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac. As the Moon empties, releases and darkens, it is signaling the shift towards a new phase of life- physically, mentally and emotionally.
Yama is lord of death and king of dharma. He determines your karmas at the time of death and encourages self control, restraint and right action. Through alignment with dharma, Yama supports your afterlife and rebirth process. Those who go against Yama will receive the wrath of Natural Law. He judges, rules and enforces the Laws of Nature with unwavering fierceness. Only dharma can win over Yama. His judgement is based on your actions and service in this life.
In the waxing cycle to come, you will be asked to let something die. Yama will ask you to rebirth, transform and start anew. You will not be able to do this without letting something go. This process of release will be more painful if you resist or refuse the release taking place. Accept the transformation and allow the changes to arrive.
This is a powerful time to declare your intentions for your dharmic path and purpose. Upgrade your actions, choices and behaviors in order to get new, more life supporting results. Clear old, mental programing and thought patterns keeping you stuck in lack and fear. The current transits are supporting an ego-identity shift and the release of very old, ancient structures. Your ability to achieve a positive shift will be determined by your willingness to show up and do the necessary work. Yama’s offerings take effort, clarity, focus and a fierce focus on one’s service to humanity.
