Full Moon in Virgo and Hasta Nakshatra on April 1st at 19:27 MT + Hanuman Jayanti

April is another complex month of transits, causing challenges for mind, money, and nervous system. Although the stagnation and problematic influences begin to ease later in the month, there are still some cautions to be mindful of.

This month brings some improved energy, hope, and a stronger Sun mid month. Exalted Sun will benefit the body, focus, and dynamism. Rest is still essential and meditation is the best use of your time until Sun shifts to exaltation mid month. Avoid rushing, forcing or pushing for outcomes and results. Multiple planets cross the delicate gandanta between Pisces (water) and Aries (fire), creating deep uprooting, upheaval and transformation. Make sure your actions, choices, and behaviors are rooted in dharma. Anything adharmic will not be tolerated.

Ketu moves to Magha Nakshatra on March 28th until December 5th, 2026. Pitr is the ruling deity of this portion of the sky, supporting ancestral guidance. This constellation can be forceful and demanding in its requests. There is no escaping your ancestral work, but most people do not make the connections between their personal karma and lineage karma. Your ancestral work becomes even more important now that Ketu transits Magha for nine months. Break free from lineage patterns & illusions. Clarify your ancestral contract. Live your dharma. Stay awake! Challenges and sudden losses with father, power, patriarchy, and the masculine surface in this cycle.

Mars moves to Pisces just as April begins. Many months of multiple planetary conjunctions have caused painful challenges in all areas of life. As these combination of planets stack up in Pisces, a powerful closer is taking place. Pisces brings endings, loss, closure, and death. Any planet going through Pisces must go through a process of loss and endings before it steps into the new (Aries). Pisces requires rest, movement, ancestral work, and spiritual alignment in order to give helpful results.

The transit of Mars in Pisces lasts until May 11th, bringing almost six weeks of closure with your karmic actions, behaviors, choices, and passion. Mars is a fire planet navigating a water sign, while conjunct Saturn. Expect your action steps to get watered down, delayed, and refined. Saturn will not let Mars get away with frivolous actions, choices or behaviors. Mars and Saturn conjunctions bring notoriously frustrating delays. Understand that Saturn always has your best interest in mind. Saturn will always win in the end, so surrender to his delays and trust he is asking you to slow down for a reason.

Mercury continues to feel intense pressure hemmed in by Rahu and Mars, until he goes debilitated in Pisces on the 10th. As he steps into Pisces, he meets Mars and Saturn, both increase the challenges and overwhelm for the mind, nervous system, money, and communication. Mars and Mercury create notorious tension with action vs. thinking. Action will win in this dynamic, but make sure it is really worthy of your effort. Saturn, however, will cause delays, obstructions, increase frustration and doubt. Slow everything down and do not rush into decisions because you feel pressure to do so.

Debilitated Mercury creates a deep vulnerability for mind, nervous system, and finances. Watch what you put into your mind. The challenges for Mercury directly impact those who share knowledge and wisdom. Councilors, spiritual teachers, coaches, therapists, healers, and guides need to reassess your offerings, purpose, and the way you share information. You are being asked to align more fully with your dharma. What limiting beliefs needs to be let go of? What have you been sharing just to make money, but no longer feels nourishing for you? Where do you need to find a simpler, more joyful way of sharing your gifts?

The Saturn-Sun conjunction continues to create deep fatigue, overwhelm and burnout for body and soul. The rest you need is beyond physical. Your soul is tired and changes need to be made now- so you can move forward more aligned with your dharmic path. Sun-Saturn conjunctions make your burnout conscious and bring karmic illusions to the surface. Sun goes exalted in Aries on April 14th. Be sure to support the necessary soul level fatigue before this transit or you will continue to be functioning from depletion rather than true strength. Sun must cross through the gandanta of Pisces/Aries before going exalted in Aries. This junction point forces deep release, letting go, and loss. The endings taking place are physical and soul level closure. Let it go.

Full Moon in Virgo and Hasta Nakshatra on April 1st at 19:27 MT

Hasta nakshatra is ruled by Savitr, the god of dawn. The sacred slice of light that emerges everyday, signaling the return of the dawn, is his domain. This is a sandhi time of day, or gap, that is particularly potent for awakening. Transformation, transition, and inner awareness are supported with this constellation. Hasta and Savitr support the returning of the light, a powerful reminder of light overtaking darkness. The light always overtakes the darkness. This is part of Nature’s cycles and rhythms. Every day she reminds us that the light returns, the Sun rises, our life force enlivens. This is a profound Law of Nature.

Powerful light is present with this full Moon, while sensitivity is also at an all time high. Use this sacred full Moon to pause and listen to your body and its wisdom. Honor the immense silence occurring in Nature and align with the strengthening potency of the Divine Feminine. Meditate, use ritual, body care, easy to digest foods, and the Gayatri Mantra to honor this potent full Moon.

Savitr grants awakening, the dawning of awareness as well as increased creativity and healing potential through the hands. Be present to something stirring within your hands and creativity. What new understanding or insights are arriving?

This full Moon also marks Hanuman Jayanti, the celebration of Hanuman’s birth. Hanuman is considered a Rudra- a god of intense strength and power. He overcame many obstacles and opponents (the rakshasa/demon Ravana and his army) out of love, devotion and service to Lord Rama and goddess Sita. May he serve as a reminder of Dharma. You have the courage to overcome challenges and darkness. You embody immense power. Lord Hanuman reminds us that Dharma is upheld by devotion.

To connect with Savitr, to awaken the magic in the hands, to bring forth the dawning and consciousness expansion, recite Gayatri Mantra.

Oṃ bhūr bhuvaḥ svaḥ
tát savitúr váreṇ(i)yaṃ
bhárgo devásya dhīmahi
dhíyo yó naḥ pracodáyāt

New Moon in Aries and Ashwini Nakshatra on April 17th at 06:44 AM MT

The second half of April brings more strength and power as Sun goes exalted in Aries. This new Moon ushers in a powerful beginning. Notice if you feel the sense of a fresh start or some renewal arriving.

Saturn, Mars and Mercury continue their challenging conjunction in Pisces. Endings are alive! Let go, release, transform. The mind is being asked to release on a deep, embodied level. Where are you gripping too tightly and refusing to let go? Where does Pisces live in your natal chart? This is the area of life and body you are being asked to release and simplify. Simultaneously you will feel frustration, challenges, and delays in this area of your body and life. Slow down and listen. Your ancestors are asking you to deepen your inner wisdom. This release is taking place on the level of the ancestral body as well. Consider how old this mental programming is? What limiting beliefs need to be transformed, healed and released once and for all? For you and your lineage?

Sun goes exalted in Aries on the 14th, but not before passing through the difficult junction point (gandanta) between water (Pisces) and fire (Aries). This is a very challenging process for the Sun. Your ego, power, sense of purpose and dharma, as well as vitality is greatly compromised during this transit. Be cautious from April 11th to 16th while Sun is navigating the gap between endings and beginnings. New action steps, anything you want to last or have a successful outcome should be delayed until Sun strengthens after the 16th.

Exalted Sun in Aries collides with Venus, creating heat, pressure, and relationship challenges. Venus is Jala, life force energy. Sun scorches this Shakti. Your physical body still needs your attention or you will increase burn out, challenges, and physical problems.

As Venus enters its own sign, Taurus, on the 19th, a strength and balance arrives for connections, co-creation, relationships, and life force. Use this support mindfully. Excess is not supported at this time. Balance, stability, and a less is more attitude is essential for progress right now.

Akshaya Tritiya, the most auspicious day of the year occurs on April 19th. The “day of lasting achievement” in the Vedic calendar takes place only once a year while both Sun and Moon are exalted simultaneously and when Moon is in the third tithi (Moon phase) of the waxing cycle. This powerful day is considered to be free from malefic influences and highly auspicious for all new ventures. For lasting success and achievement, this is the day! Meditation, pujas, and dharmic action steps, will all bring potent lasting results. Go for gold today! Share dharmic steps and take action you want to multiply.

New Moon in Aries and Ashwini Nakshatra on April 17th at 06:44 AM MT.

This new Moon requires cutting away the excess and supporting renewal. Excess is not tolerated right now with the current transits. Using your life force energy and resources strategically is essential.

Beginnings and rejuvenation arrive. This is a powerful cycle for healing and transformation. Release, make space in body and life, and open to the new. Direct this new Moon energy towards self care, healing resources and creativity.

As the Amavasya (New Moon) awakens Ashwini nakshatra, the constellation of healing supports greater inner wisdom to arrive. Clear space for this wisdom by releasing and letting go of stagnation, undigested emotions and mental clutter. This is an ideal cycle to attend to the physical body and wellness practices. Start your fall or spring cleanse at the time of the new Moon and jump start your healing process in the weeks ahead.

The Ashwini Kumara twins rule the first constellation of the zodiac, Ashwini. This dynamic duo are brothers- both Ayurvedic doctors who can support powerful healing within the body. They awaken creativity, spark new life and enliven rejuvenation so vitality can arrive. The Ayurvedic doctors also rule over all the healing arts- resources that support increased life force energy. The more life force within, the more vitality and strength experienced within the physiology. Allow the support of the Ashwini Kumaras to help you restore balance, integration and wellness in the cycle ahead.

The symbol of Ashwini is a horse head. Horses represent power, strength, endurance and vitality. Working with horses and riding horses requires clarity, focus and a strong will, as well as willingness to be touched by horse medicine. Ashwini expresses the ability to strengthen ourselves and heal like the mighty horse. Horses are known to create an anti-venom which literally and metaphorically expresses the ability to ward off evil, poison and snakes. The coming cycle can support greater strength and vitality- in body, mind, emotions and spirit. Spend time with horses and watch them carefully for healing insights.

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, while Ashwini is the first constellation of all twenty seven nakshatras. The arrival of this full Moon brings beginnings with it. As with all openings, there is also closing, release and letting go. Are you attending to losses and release? Are you allowing for the letting go? What grief needs to be purged and has yet to be honored? Where are you skipping over your closing ritual?

It’s time to come back to ground and deepen your self trust. Use resources to support more nourishment, rest and gentleness, Re-center yourself and use your body as the tuning fork. What does your body say it needs? Ask your body to give you messages and listen carefully. Keep showing up.
