New Moon in Libra and Vishaka Nakshatra on November 9th at 00:03 AM MT + Diwali
November brings a wave of new vitality, uncertainty, and vulnerability. The skies are delicate this month. Arguably one of the most challenging months of the year from a transit perspective. Multiple debilitated planets, coupled with major planets changing signs, brings ripe potential, while also a need to slow down, listen more, and turn within. This is not a month to rush, push, or force. Your body needs more gentleness, warmth, and rest. Honor this transitional season with slow, steady steps, more pause, and deeper breaths.
As the month begins, Mars is finishing up its debilitation cycle in Cancer, leaping into Leo to join Jupiter and Ketu. When a planet leaves a sign, it strengthens, intensifies, but also becomes more vulnerable simultaneously. Mars is the planet of war, violence, and aggression. He brings frustrations, anger, and inflammation. As Mars leaves water sign Cancer, move even more slowly. Be methodical with your steps. Caution while driving is even more important this month. Watch for road rage, other drivers not paying attention, and traffic problems. Take care of your heart, mother, and emotions. Waves of emotion, grief, and sadness may move through. Let the water flow. This is an important cleansing and clearing cycle.
Venus retrogrades back into debilitation on November 5th, going Neecha Bhanga and in sandhi degrees during this entire transit. This further destabilizes travel, vehicles, relationships, women, finances and beauty. Shakti is low and health is vulnerable- especially with Sun still debilitated. Do not take risks with health, relationships, vitality or travel. Be extra careful driving and watch for expenses with vehicles and health.
At the time of the new Moon there are three debilitated planets. Sun, Mars, and Venus are at their weakest and most vulnerable placements. The new Moon is a request to slow down, rest, turn within, and pause. Take extra care of your body during this new Moon and focus on rejuvenation and replenishing your physical and financial reserves.
Mercury is still retrograde in Libra until the 13th. As he moves direct, and continues to move through Libra for the month of November, communication becomes even more important. Upgrade, improve, and strengthen your communication skills, how you share your offerings in the marketplace, and who you work with. It’s time for transformation and more potency with your business.
The nodes are preparing to change signs on December 6th (mean node) and already in sandhi degrees. Ketu is moving to Cancer and Rahu is moving to Capricorn. This brings karmic changes to mother, emotions, heart, and structures, work ethic, and your offerings. More details coming in a new transit article.
Jupiter has just entered Leo and is in exact conjunction with Ketu. This is your sovereignty cycle. It’s time to upgrade your power and soul purpose. Your ancestors are here to support you every step of the way.

New Moon in Vishaka Nakshatra and Libra on November 9th at 00:03 AM MT.
The new Moon rises on the 8th, but for the West Coast, the precise moment of Amavasya occurs minutes into the 9th. This sacred new Moon coincides with the most potent day of Diwali, Lakshmi Puja. Diwali (or Deepavali) is a very significant five day festival in the Vedic tradition. The most significant day of the Diwali festivities is on the new Moon.
This five day celebration honors light, Lakshmi, and the divine resources available to us. Lakshmi is the giver of health, vitality, nourishment and wealth. The festival of light spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair. Three of the most important days are dedicated to Dhanvantari, Hanuman and of course the new moon being the most important of all, which is solely dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi.

This Libra new Moon calls for integration, balance and harmony. Ruling planet of Libra, Venus, is currently retrograde and debilitated. Retrograde Venus is causing relationships to be re-evaluated, re-assessed and returned to. Look again at all things Venus. This is vital for more balance in relationships, finances, comforts, and overall nourishment. Use this cycle to tip the scales in a different direction and find a more harmonious way with binaries and opposing forces.
What needs are not being met? Where do you need to find more balance? Where do you need clearer boundaries?
The coming cycle instigates the need for balance, harmony and integration in new, more proactive ways. New Moon in Vishaka nakshatra asks you to increase support in order to receive more balance in your life. Vishaka expresses duality, as it is ruled by two gods- Indra and Agni. Both rely on each other for support, growth, strength and purpose. Indra is the king of the gods, yet Agni is the priest. Neither can thrive without the wisdom and resources of the other. This is a reminder that duality must find its common ground, the middle way. Neither polarity exists alone. Together they create wholeness. This cycle asks you to re-evalute binaries, polarities, and opposition in order to create more coexistence. What parts of yourself need more harmony?
Both Libra and Vishaka are powerful reminders of what is required in harmonious relationship and the ease of conflict. Release the binaries and find the common ground. Activate the process of relating and connecting. Both sides must reach toward the other in order for connection, communication and co-creation. Vishaka is an important reminder that no one can survive without help, support and guidance from a team and a community. We thrive through connection, relationship and Village. Seek out your village or strengthen your current community.
What conflicts are surfacing right now in yourself and in your relationships? How can you find more balance with your inner conflicts? What would more balance and harmony feel like in your life and relationships? Where are you noticing the imbalances in your life? Can you find a gentler, more harmonious way?
This is a powerful time of emptying, releasing and clean up- especially for health, relationships and finances. Seek to re-balance your needs and priorities. Clarify boundaries and expectations. Plug the leaks and strengthen your ability to receive the nourishment you need. Your pelvis is a potent resource in this cycle. Find your stability and balance within.

Fire god, Agni, rules Krittika nakshatra. This constellation supports purification through fire. It has a razor sharp exactness that allows for precision, clarity and focus. Fire is one of the most powerful resources available to humans. From a healing perspective, fire supports the transformation process, allowing new form, shape and possibilities to arrive. Instrumental in the alchemy of change and awakening, Agni is the spark that lights the fire. This Law of Nature lives in your body and supports the digestion process- physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Without Agni there is no life possible.
