New Moon in Libra and Vishaka Nakshatra on November 13th at 02:28 am MT
At the time of the new Moon the powerful festival of lights, Diwali, is taking place. This sacred celebration awakens the inner light at this time of darkness. Rahu and Ketu have just changed signs for the next 1.5 years, causing a shift in shadow and light. Inner awareness is transforming and new insights are emerging. Sun is still debilitated in Libra, which is the lowest point of light in the entire year. With Sunlight being dim, taking care of your inner light becomes even more important. At the same time, Venus is now debilitated, conjunct Ketu. This is a potent reminder that life force energy is weak and it needs your extra care and protection throughout the month. This is not a good time to push or force, do dangerous activities, or over spend. Relationships are particularly vulnerable and volatile. Pull back, turn within, and focus on taking care of your body and relationship dynamics. Life force and love need your extra attention and care this month.
Diwali (or Deepavali) is a very significant five day festival in the Vedic tradition. The most significant day of the Diwali festivities is on the new Moon.
This five day celebration honors light, Lakshmi, and the divine resources available to us. Lakshmi is the giver of health, vitality, nourishment and wealth. The festival of light spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair. Three of the most important days are dedicated to Dhanvantari and Hanuman. The new moon being the most important of all, is solely dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi. This year the main night of Diwali occurs on November 12th.
Vishaka nakshatra is ruled by the dual god, Indragni. Indra is the king of the gods, while Agni is the priest. Both rely on each other and are interdependent on each other’s skills and resources. One can not function without the other. The king relies on spiritual support from the priest, whereas the priest relies on the king’s financial resources. Both are extremely powerful, yet their power doubles when they work together.
Agni is the fire of life, the powerful transformational energy of change, release and healing. Agni brings new life through digestion and assimilation. He connects us to the mouth, the portal of nourishment, where food is transformed into body and flesh. Agni supports the transformation of our offerings at the altar, in order for our gifts to be received by Spirit and the ancestors.
Vishaka nakshatra reminds us that two heads are better than one, that support and relationships are vital for life. This constellation also places an emphasis on duality and the need for integrating opposing forces. Differences can in fact be resources, rather than challenges that set us apart.
How can you integrate opposing forces within you? Where are you in conflict with the illusion of difference and separateness? What inner conflicts are enlivened right now? What battles are you waging- against yourself and others?
Full Moon in Taurus and Rohini Nakshatra on November 27th at 02:16 am MT
At the time of the Full Moon, debilitated Venus and Ketu are in exact conjunction on the horizon. A restructuring with life force, relationships, and finances is taking place. Mercury is in sandhi degrees, creating a fragile dynamic with communication, commerce, and creativity. Mars is in his own sign of Scorpio, combust Sun- which makes for excess heat and passion. This full Moon is especially full and powerful as Moon is in his favorite sign in mulitrikona degrees. The emotional body is big, intense, and full of sensuality. Harness this creative power and put it to good use- without burnout and excess fatigue. Despite the power of the Moon, this is a vulnerable time for the body. Be vigilant with your health and vitality.
Rohini nakshatra is a powerful constellation of manifestation. Ruling god Brahma and his wife Saraswati bring creative power and potential to Rohini. In the holy trinity of gods, Brahma is the creative force. Without him, life would not be possible. In Vedic lore, Lord Brahma created the entire universe from his navel. His wife Saraswati rules over the expressive arts as well as knowledge and wisdom, technology and machines. Together, Brahma and Saraswati spark worldly desire and bring it into form. As an extremely creative and sensual constellation, Rohini can fulfill desires, support manifestation, awaken deep nourishment, and increase sexuality and sensuality.
This is the most powerful constellation for creation, creativity and bringing desires into tangible form. Rohini is a fixed constellation, which offers stable results and dharmic support. Now is the time to make your dreams a reality and take the necessary action steps to manifest it into form. Make your dreams a priority and start creating a life you love! What brings you joy? What are you passionate about? What moves you closer to sustainable nourishment? Say yes to your creativity. What are you creating for your one, precious life?
What desires need your attention right now? What are you creating on your path? What steps are you taking to make it happen? How can you come back to sensuality and pleasure more fully? What needs to be created, expressed, nurtured- in order for you to be fulfilled? What are you manifesting right now?
